America's Downfall + The Gods of Old

“When an unclean spirit goes out of a man, he goes through dry places, seeking rest, and finds none. Then he says, ‘I will return to my house from which I came.’ And when he comes, he finds it empty, swept, and put in order. Then he goes and takes with him seven other spirits more wicked than himself, and they enter and dwell there; and the last state of that man is worse than the first. So shall it also be with this wicked generation.”  Matthew 12:43-45

When Jesus adds “so shall it also be with this wicked generation” He is talking about a group of people - not necessarily an individual. A generation, culture or civilization. So is that what happened to America? When America was founded, was it founded on Biblical principles? Were the evil spirits (the little g gods of old) cast out only to be invited back in during the 1960s?

With that parable in Matthew 12, a post-christian civilization would end up far darker than a pre-christian civilization. Is that what happened to America? For a nation that had once known God, that was once delivered of the little g gods and spirits, to then turn away from the one true God is very dangerous because those little g gods would return 7 times worse.
